Chemicals Technology Group

The Chemicals Technology Group (CTG) at SRF is actively engaged in the development of new products and process technologies for our Fluorochemicals and Specialty Chemicals businesses. The group’s key focus is the development of intermediates for new Active Ingredients (AI) in pharmaceuticals, agrochemical industries as well as new generation refrigerants.

Utilizing the synergetic efforts, of close to 400 people working across locations and engineering centers, CTG is relentlessly working towards improving SRF’s capabilities of process development, scale-up, and commercialization of new chemistries in our chosen areas of operation.

In order to cater to the rising customer demands and shrinking timelines, CTG is continuously striving to enhance the efficiency of its resources. With the belief that innovation, quality, and productivity are the key drivers of success, CTG remains dedicated to the sustainable growth of the company.

CTG is SRF’s powerhouse and takes on herculean complex processes and innovations involving a variety of chemistries every passing year. Our R&D team has worked on more than 100 molecules, of which a significant number of products have successfully been taken up for process development. With the focus on Continuous Improvement, scale-up campaigns are carried out regularly by the pilot plant. This translates into numerous production campaigns completed across commercial multi-purpose plants. Based on in-house development, SRF also commissions new dedicated plants, as and when required.

CTG’s rigorous approach to IP creation has resulted in more than three hundred and fifty patent applications filed to date.
