Germany honours Arun Bharat Ram

New Delhi, August 30, 2008: Mr. Arun Bharat Ram, Chairman, SRF Limited has been honoured with the prestigious Officer’s Cross of the Order of Merit, presented by the Federal Government of Germany. He received the award from the German Ambassador, H.E. Mr. Bernd Muetzelburg at a function held in the Germany Embassy, New Delhi last evening.

Mr. Arun Bharat Ram has been bestowed with this honour in recognition of his contribution as Co-Chairman of the Indo-German Consultative Group, a Government of India appointment. He has been serving as the Co-Chairman of the Group since 2002, which has been set up for advising on ways of strengthening and diversifying the mutually beneficial exchanges between the two countries.

Mr. Arun Bharat Ram is also the recipient of the Jamsetji Tata Award, which was conferred on him by the Indian Society for Quality (ISQ) for the year 2006. He is the past President of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Association of Synthetic Fibre Industry. Presently, he holds the office of CII as Chairman of its Family Business Council.

Mr. Arun Bharat Ram hails from the renowned business family of Delhi, the owner of the famous Shri Ram Group and DCM with a legacy of more than 100 years beginning from his grand father Sir Lala Shri Ram and his father Dr. Bharat Ram.
